PUSH BIKING AROUND MOTHER EARTH AND PROMOTING POSITIVE CHANGE!
TRADUIRE SUR GOOGLE TRADUCTION...
When we were just young men we felt lost, lost in a world that seemed to have no end to its own enormity. A world that swallowed us whole and left nothing but a hollow vessel that was to drift alone in the vast plains we know as our own lives. But we knew one thing, this life was meant for more than what we couldn’t find in the bubbles of our own existence. So we took a leap, a leap of faith. We sprung out of the world we knew, with the hope that we would find more in the world we didn’t know. What we found was more than what we expected, so much more…
The first question I get asked about my travels is the same question most people ask about most major changes in people’s lives, how do you take that first step? The answer for me was simple, I bought a ticket and I left. But this is not something that everyone has the opportunity to do, and this is where we step in!
Our idea is to have a website based on getting people who want to travel, in touch with those who are already doing it. A sort of search engine for blogs all based around greener travel options. The inputs of which will be easily accessed and categorized with simple clicks of a mouse button, few basic criteria entries and a fully interactive map. This will make it so you can find out what you need about where you want to go quickly. This is done with information from those who are there, a sort of off the beaten track and no use of guide books kind of travel site, all based around low environmental impact travel.
Now let us introduce ourselves:
My name is Nick Harman Brown, I am a 29 year old from Australia with a dream to travel the world and help others to do so. I have been to 30 different countries, most in the last 4 years, and I don’t intend on stopping my travels anytime soon. I love to travel off the beaten track and have passion for green travel, especially bikes!
Meet my friend Roman. A 30 year old man from France. Roman has travelled the world from his French home to New Zealand, and almost everywhere in between. He is another intrepid adventurer who has a love for the unknown and low environmental impact travel. A keen touring cyclist with more miles put under the pedals than I care to mention.
We met in 2008 climbing in the Northern reaches of Vietnam climbing the highest mountain on the South East Asian mainland, a peak know as Fansipan! We spent the next few months bumping into each other in random locations around Asia and have been friends ever since!
Now we are going to do our first trip together! Our plan is to travel from France to Mongolia on our bikes, a distance of over 25,000kms and spanning 18 countries. All the while constantly imputing information to our website and visiting local communities in need along the way. During this trip we will be raising money for the Red Cross and getting involved in their charitable workings in each country along the way.
The website that we are planning has another aspect to it. Not only will it be a hub of interaction for travellers looking to get off the beaten track, but also an opportunity for those in dire need of a change in their lives, people who have lost hope.
The idea is that the site will bring people together and break down the barriers that are created by boarders, language and cultures. This idea will be for travellers who want to make a difference, to do just that. To fund and support a young person who has lost hope, with an opportunity to see the world. This will not be a direct donation to the youths themselves, and there will be no access to the youth’s information on the site. Instead we will explore different channels around the globe to find candidates for a ‘scholarship’ of international learning and exploration. This is an investment that will go towards creating travel opportunities for those less fortunate, so they can find their feet.
There are many people who are affected by the lack of access to change in their lives. We want to be able to be a bridge that they can cross to see and achieve their goals and realize their potential.
The list of people who could be helped by this idea is endless! A constant connection for those who are living their own dreams, to those who only wish for the opportunity to realize their own. This will all be done while promoting green travel and providing inspirational stories! An example of people achieving their potential can be a driving force for those trying to find their own, so with our ride across two continents we will be supplying a wealth of insight to what you are capable of if you put your mind to it!
To start our project we are going to need time to access the right people. But with the right backing we can fast track our ideas with the force of forward motion!
We have a small but effective IT team that is ready to build (and currently building) our website plus we have countless writings of our own to contribute. We also have approached bloggers who we want to contribute and are happy to do so!
As far as the bike trip goes we are ready! Both Roman and I are riding each day in training and we have a leave date of either this or next September, depending on the functionality of the website.
25,000kms for a cause that knows no limits, so neither shall we.

What's a Pulse?
An idea's Pulse is calculated by a unique algorithm that rates views, votes and comments according to their activity over time. It was designed to promote the exposure of newly submitted yet engaging ideas. Although the exact way we calculate the Pulse is our bit of secret sauce, when people start viewing, voting, and leaving comments your Pulse will increase. Ultimately, the growth of your Pulse is proportionate to how much attention your idea is getting.
